The ASLO Early Career Committee is excited to announce session AV01 “Amplifying Voices in a Changing World” for early career researchers (ECRs) at the 2024 ASLO Summer Meeting in Madison, WI, USA (2-7 June 2024).
The world is rapidly changing. The accelerating tempo of climate change, eutrophication, altered hydrological regimes, overharvest, and biodiversity loss are threatening aquatic ecosystems, water resources, and resultant human well-being. Effectively adapting to meet these challenges will require major transitions in both our thinking and how we manage aquatic ecosystems to build resilience. Sustainable solutions—those that work across sectors, nations, and generations—will emerge from a foundation of actionable aquatic science.
The ASLO “Amplifying Voices” webinar series began in 2021 to highlight the work of early-career researchers from historically underrepresented groups in our global science community. Session AV01 “Amplifying Voices in a Changing World” welcomes submissions for pre-recorded talks to be presented to attendees at the conference from ECRs who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference.
Participation in the session has no cost and registration will be waived. To submit your abstract for consideration, register utilizing the “pay later” function and submit your abstract to the AV session. More information can be found here https://www.aslo.org/madison-2024/session-list/#av
To be considered for the session, you must submit an abstract and register by the deadline of 28 February 2024.
