It’s been an incredible quarter for the Western Indian Ocean Early Career Scientists Network (WIO-ECSN)! From driving global ECOP action at the Ocean Decade Conference to participating in the Virtual ECOP Days 2024, WIO-ECSN has been making waves worldwide. This quarterly update highlights the Tidal Wave Fellowship for young Black voices in marine science, WIO-ECSN’s presence at the Ocean Conference, ECOPs at the Ocean Race from Japan to Palau, and the appointment of two WIO-ECSN members to the Youth Sounding Board for the Delegation of the European Union to Tanzania.
