Mr. Abdulrahman he is a masters graduate specialized in Marine Environment and Water Specialist. He is current working as a head Section of Marine Biotic Resources at Somali Marine Resource Research Center (SMRRC) and Director of Somalia Water Partnership (SWP) which is under GWP. He is experienced in the field of marine science and has been working with SMRRC for more than 6 years and teach courses related to marine science. During his leadership term Mr. Abdulrahman would like to gain knowledge from the different members who are from the different countries of the WIO region. He would also assist Somali people and attract more students and marine related careers to join the network and networking together. He will conduct awareness and capacity building programs to the marine students and coastal communities in Somalia. He will promote the networking activities and WIOMSA to Somali People. His thoughts on why other people should join the WIO-ECS Network is basically to gain skills and knowledge from the network, to improve their knowledge of marine science and networking together in the region. His advice to early-career scientists planning to pursue careers in marine science is to do more practical related to their fields and follow the news and opportunities provided with this network. To also interact with each other (Connectivity among us) and invent new ideas for the region and the network.
